of Operations |

Series liquid ring
Vacuum Pumps are
positive displacement
type and consists
of an Impeller which
is located eccentric
in the stator. The
liquid introduced
preferably water
is set into rotary
motion by blading
thus forming a water
ring concentric
with line casing.
Cells are formed
between the ring
and the blades of
the impeller which
vary in volume from
a maximum to a minimum
with each revolution.
The liquid enters
the working chamber
through the openings
in the lateral control
disc and is compressed
by the decrease
in volume of the
cells. It then flows
out through the
discharge openings. |

used as a vacuum

will develop vacuum
of 28" Hg column
(710 mm) with water
as sealant at 300C
and barometer at
30" (760 mm)
mercury.
When used as a compresser
it will develope
pressure up to 25
